Optimal Robot Speed Trajectory by Minimization of the Actuator Motor Electromechanical Losses

چکیده
This paper considers the control problem of a robotic manipulator with separately excited dc motor drives as actuators. An innovative method is proposed which achieves robot speed-control requirements, with simultaneous minimization of total electromechanical losses, while the drives follow the desired speed profiles of the robot joints under various loads and random load disturbances. If there is no demand for a specific speed profile, the optimal speed trajectory is determined by minimizing an electromechanical losses criterion. Controllable energy losses, such as armature copper losses, armature iron losses, field copper losses, stray load losses, brush load losses, friction and windage losses, can be expressed proportionally to the squares of the armature and the field (exciting) currents, the angular velocity and the magnetic field flux. The controllable energy loss term is also included in the optimal control integral quadratic performance index, defined for the whole operation period. Thus the appropriate control signals required for following the desired trajectory by simultaneous energy loss minimization for the whole operation interval are achieved. Two case studies of optimal robot control with and without minimization of actuator energy losses are presented and compared, showing the energy savings that can be achieved by the proposed methodology.

Optimal Trajectory of Flexible Manipulator with Maximum Load Carrying Capacity
In this paper, a new formulation along with numerical solution for the problem of finding a point-to-point trajectory with maximum load carrying capacities for flexible manipulators is proposed. For rigid manipulators, the major limiting factor in determining the Dynamic Load Carrying Capacity (DLCC) is the joint actuator capacity. The flexibility exhibited by light weight robots or by robots o...

In this paper a general formulation for finding the maximum allowable dynamic load (MADL) of flexible link mobile manipulators is presented. The main constraints used for the algorithm presented are the actuator torque capacity and the limited error bound for the end-effector during motion on the given trajectory. The precision constraint is taken into account with two boundary lines in plane w...

In this paper, trajectory generation for the 4 DOF arm of SURENA III humanoid robot with the purpose of optimizing energy and avoiding a moving obstacle is presented. For this purpose, first, kinematic equations for a seven DOF manipulator are derived. Then, using the Lagrange method, an explicit dynamics model for the arm is developed. In the next step, in order to generate the desired traject...
متن کاملCurrent Limitation and Speed Drop Minimization in Optimal-Efficiency of Induction Motors
In conventional direct torque control (DTC), the stator flux is usually kept constant by controlling the x-axis component of the stator voltage in the stator flux reference frame. The torque is then controlled by the y-axis component of stator voltage. In this scenario, the stator current does not exceed its permissible value. However, in the so-called optimal efficiency mode, the induction mot...

This paper aims to discuss the requirements of safe and smooth trajectory planning of transporter mobile robots to perform non-prehensile object manipulation task. In non-prehensile approach, the robot and the object must keep their grasp-less contact during manipulation task. To this end, dynamic grasp concept is employed for a box manipulation task and corresponding conditions are obtained an...
